My practice is studio based with mixed media in two and three dimensions. Currently I work as both a painter and a ceramicist.
I paint, print and use clay in much the same way. Ceramics are fired, broken and collaged just as paper and canvas are torn and glued. The ceramics question form and
function; all my work probes the limits of beauty and redundancy.
My inspiration is the Natural World and the associated issues we all face now. The work shifts from conscious celebration to an uncertain vulnerability. The work shown with Prince and Pilgrim is from a series of decorative functional ceramics titled “Summer Meadow “. Buttercups, Daisies and Marigolds are simplified using bold shapes and colour to freely exploring figuration and abstraction to express the joy of summer wild flowers.
